A low-grade cobalt ore in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in Africa is used as raw material. The contents of cobalt, manganese, iron, alumina and magnesia in the low-grade cobalt ore are 0.26%, 0.51%, 1.73%, 6.37% and 5.54% respectively. Adopt this method cobalt recovery rate > 80%, the cobalt content > 31% of cobalt hydroxide product. In the high-efficiency cobalt recovery industrial test of the low-grade cobalt ore, the following steps are sequentially included.Preparation process steps of active magnesium oxide precipitation cobalt
The first step of leaching: add water to adjust the leached ore to a pulp mass percentage concentration of 35%, add concentrated sulfuric acid and a reducing agent, and react for 300 minutes under the conditions of controlling the leaching process with a sulfuric acid mass concentration of 15g/l and an oxidation-reduction potential of 380mv. After the reaction is completed, solid-liquid separation is performed to obtain cobalt-containing liquid 1 and leaching slag, and the leaching slag is sent to the slurry storage for storage.
The second step of iron removal: Add the subsequent second-stage cobalt sedimentation slag to the cobalt-containing liquid 1, react for 30 minutes under air-filled conditions, and then finely grind to -0.074mm particle size accounting for 80% of low-grade cobalt ore, under the air-filled condition The reaction was carried out for 60 minutes, and the terminal pH value of the iron removal reaction was controlled to be 4.5. After the reaction, the solid-liquid separation was completed to obtain the cobalt-containing liquid 2 and the neutralization slag, and the neutralization slag was returned to the first step of leaching process.
The third step of manganese removal:
